“Thank you.”
Two simple words yet rarely used.
Appreciation is underrated.
Appreciation. It’s something everyone likes but seldom get. Staff today get reprimanded more than they are praised, even when most work delivered are up to expectations.
More often than not, employees are not getting the appreciation they deserve. This is one of the common reasons why employee retention at companies are low. After all, if someone has given their 110% and still does not get any recognition for it, why would they stay? It’s basic human emotional need.
A talent recruitment company contacted us wanting to change things. They wanted to inculcate “Daily Appreciation” into their everyday work. Saying a simple thank you was not enough, though it was a good start. So they decided they wanted to gamify it and Gameka helped to develop a mobile solution called “TQ App”. Quite an appropriate name if you ask me.
With the deployment of the TQ App, the results were immediate: each staff felt a great deal more appreciated. They received at least one word of praise per day. Each praise was stored and kept as a “trophy” within the app to give regular morale boosts to individuals.
To put in some numbers, that’s more than 30 appreciative words sent on a daily basis. Multiply that by 20 working days, that’s 600 appreciative words sent and received. In the past, it was hardly 30 per month!
Because of the greater deal appreciation, we noticed that morale within the organization has increased. Does this translate into more business? Only time will tell. But for now, we know people enjoy coming to work.
